How to Search the Andalusia Court Docket
For an Andalusia Police Department citation, the first stop is the city's MyFinePayment search. It is a payment tool. It is not a full public index of Municipal Court filings. The form asks for a last name, a date of birth, and a citation number. Andalusia requires two of those three. Also know that a fresh ticket can take time to appear. A case needing an appearance may not qualify for online payment at all.
Follow this order. It keeps a city matter apart from a Circuit or District Court case:
- Read the issuing court and ticket date printed on the citation.
- Search MyFinePayment with two of the three available identifiers.
- Check whether the result is payable or requires an Andalusia Municipal Court appearance.
- Call the municipal clerk when the result is missing, unclear, or close to Andalusia Municipal Court date.
- Use Just One Look only for a state case or a city judgment appealed to Circuit Court.
Alabama's statewide trial-court service is Just One Look, a paid remote channel. For a pending municipal citation, it does not replace the Andalusia clerk. To sort out the court levels, see the Covington County court docket overview.
Andalusia Two-of-Three Citation Search
The two-of-three rule is what makes the Andalusia citation portal work. Lost the ticket? Pair a last name with a date of birth. Have the printed copy in hand? Pair the last name with the citation number. Date of birth plus citation number works too. Exact entries matter, because the tool hunts for one payable citation rather than letting you browse every city case.
| Andalusia search field | How it helps | Portal rule |
|---|---|---|
| Last name | Matches the cited person | Use with another field |
| Date of birth | Narrows a name match | Use with another field |
| Citation number | Targets the printed ticket | Use with another field |
A payment lookup that succeeds is still not the whole court record. Motions, later trial settings, an appeal, or a certified copy must come from Andalusia Municipal Court, which holds that phase of the case.
The Andalusia Municipal Court
The official Andalusia Municipal Court page lists the court at 102 Opp Avenue, Andalusia, AL 36420. Mail goes to PO Box 429. Call the clerk at 334-222-3299; the fax line is 334-427-7082. This court handles misdemeanor criminal and traffic offenses arising inside Andalusia's police jurisdiction. A felony does not land on the city docket. That is true even when the conduct happened in Andalusia. State matters belong elsewhere.
Andalusia names Judge William Alverson and prosecutor Allen Woodard. Public defenders are John F. Jones and Meredith Peters, and the clerk is Ann Edwards. Those names may surface around an Andalusia court setting. That helps explain what you are reading. The search rule stays the same either way. The municipal clerk keeps the local file. The Covington Circuit Clerk keeps Circuit and District records.

Andalusia Monday Court Calendar
Andalusia Municipal Court normally convenes on Mondays at 2 p.m. That rhythm helps you read the date printed on a city citation. It is not a promise that court happens every Monday, though. Holidays can shift the calendar. A notice or later order can move a single case without disturbing the weekly pattern.
Call the clerk before you travel, especially near a holiday. A saved portal date can go stale after a reset. A reset means the setting moved; it does not mean the charge vanished. The current court notice and the clerk's file control. Note: the normal Monday schedule never replaces the date. Nor does it replace the instructions issued for one Andalusia case.
Andalusia Court Dates and Settings
An Andalusia court record can show two different dates. One is the ticket date. The other is a later trial date. Paying an eligible citation resolves it by plea and payment. Entering a not-guilty or other plea brings an order that sets the matter for trial. For the contested setting, trust that later order, not the first payment screen.
| Date | The ticket date or the later date set by court order. |
|---|---|
| Time | The listed appearance time, with the regular Andalusia session normally at 2 p.m. |
| Location | Municipal Court at 102 Opp Avenue unless Andalusia Municipal Court directs otherwise. |
| Case identifier | The citation or case number used by the clerk and notification form. |
| Setting type | Payment, plea, or a trial set after a contested plea. |
The Andalusia notification form asks for a citation or case number, name, birth date, court date, phone, and a validated email. Data may not upload until roughly ten days before court. Notification is never guaranteed, and it never excuses an appearance.
Andalusia Payable Citation Limits
Online access is narrow by design. MyFinePayment locates and pays an eligible Andalusia citation. It does not cover every municipal misdemeanor, every filing, or a contested trial docket. If no match comes back, recheck the two identifiers. Confirm Andalusia issued the ticket, and allow for the stated upload timing. Then call the clerk instead of assuming no case exists.
Eligible payments can happen in person, through MyFinePayment, by phone at 877-748-6252, or by mail. A mailed payment needs the full cashier's check or money order. Include a signed copy of the ticket. Andalusia warns against mailing cash or a personal check. Miss payment before the ticket date and you must appear.
Portal limit: An Andalusia payment result proves that the citation was found for that service. It is not a certified Case Action Summary.
Andalusia Traffic Tickets
Got a traffic ticket in Andalusia? Check where it belongs before anything else. The citation number is your best routing clue. The issuing court line matters just as much when you are deciding where to look. Some citations written during a stop inside or near Andalusia actually belong to Covington District Court, not the municipal court. A state or county citation may route elsewhere. The portal and the clerk both rely on that number to tell tickets apart.
Think twice before paying. Paying an eligible ticket counts as a guilty plea. Anyone who wants to contest the charge should hold off until they understand that effect. A contested Andalusia case moves toward an order setting trial instead. The county-wide channels and proof-correction rules are summarized with the Covington County traffic court records.
One last money note. Cash bonds come back by City of Andalusia check once the case settles. That refund is separate from what the docket records about your plea, hearing, and disposition.
Andalusia Plea-to-Trial Timeline
A contested Andalusia case follows a different sequence than an online payment. The citation opens the Andalusia case. Your first response is payment where allowed, an appearance, or a plea. Plead not guilty, or enter any other plea. Andalusia Municipal Court then issues a trial order. That order sets the new date to track with the municipal clerk. Watch for it.
Andalusia case path: Citation › plea or eligible payment › trial order when contested › hearing › municipal judgment.
A later notice can reset the hearing, so read docket entries in date order. Distinguish the date an order was filed from the future date it schedules. If an expected notice never arrives, call Andalusia Municipal Court. The court expressly warns about its notification service. That service is not a reason to miss an appearance.
Where Andalusia Cases End Up
Andalusia Municipal Court handles the city's traffic and misdemeanor docket. Felonies, major civil cases, domestic-relations matters, and other state cases are different. Those start in the proper Covington County court instead. The Circuit Clerk of Covington County keeps the case dockets. Both Circuit and District Court records sit at One North Court Square. For remote viewing, Just One Look offers paid access to Alabama trial-court case details. The clerk counter stays the official local access point.
Docket flow: Andalusia Municipal Court › Covington County Courts › Circuit Court.
Want to appeal an Andalusia municipal judgment? File within 14 days. The appeal goes to Covington Circuit Court for a trial de novo, meaning the Circuit Court hears the whole matter anew. Once that Circuit case exists, the county Case Action Summary is where you track the new phase.
Andalusia City and County Counters
Two Andalusia addresses hold different records. The Andalusia court counter at 102 Opp Avenue keeps the municipal file. The Covington County courthouse at One North Court Square holds the Circuit and District Court files through the Circuit Clerk. Sending a municipal request to the county clerk can slow things down. Custody follows the issuing court, not your home address.
| Record sought | Andalusia starting point |
|---|---|
| City citation or ordinance case | Andalusia Municipal Court, 102 Opp Avenue |
| State misdemeanor or county traffic case | Covington District Court through the Circuit Clerk |
| Felony or municipal appeal | Covington Circuit Court through the Circuit Clerk |
Ask for the Case Action Summary, or name the filing by date and title. Request certification only when you need an authenticated copy.
Public Access to Andalusia Court Records
Ordinary Andalusia case records fall under Alabama's court-record access rules. Protected content stays restricted. A specific request should name the case, the document, and the date when possible. Paying for broad access does not unlock everything. Sealed records, confidential material, juvenile files, and protected identifiers stay off limits. For city cases, the municipal clerk is the first custodian. The Circuit Clerk takes over the county record after an appeal.
Key Rules:
Alabama Rules of Court-Record Privacy and Confidentiality make court records accessible unless law, rule, or order restricts them and require sensitive identifiers to be redacted.
Rule 30 of Judicial Administration authorizes clerks to provide copies, certified records, and searches for prescribed fees.
Alabama public-record request law supports specific written requests to the custodian and permits required fees to be prepaid.
A portal printout is just a convenience copy. Verify any Andalusia setting with Andalusia Municipal Court, and get certified proof from the clerk holding the original.
Andalusia Fourteen-Day Appeal Record
The appeal deadline reshapes both the court and the record trail. An Andalusia municipal judgment can be appealed to Circuit Court within 14 days. The appeal earns a trial de novo. The Andalusia clerk's file still records what happened in Municipal Court. The new Circuit Court case, kept at North Court Square, records the appeal phase.
Before checking an appeal, gather a few things. Bring the municipal citation or case number. Bring the judgment date, the names as styled in court, and any Circuit case number already assigned. Search Just One Look for the Circuit phase. You can also call the Covington Circuit Clerk at 334-428-2520. Do not expect the Andalusia payment portal to display the full appealed docket.
Note: Missing an appeal result online can reflect timing or custody. That alone does not prove no appeal was filed.
